    Headers

Anyone have recommendations on where to purchase shorty headers for the 352 on my 60 hardtop? I searched the postings and only came up with one place. Thanks.

    RE: Headers

Has anyone put headers on a 352 in their T Bird? My exhaust manifold is cracked on one side and I was thinking it would be to my advantage to go with headers. I did not think they would be much more than the exhaust manifold and would be less restrictive. Are headers just not used?
    Thanks,
    Dan

      RE: Headers

There are a few people here that have put headers on their Squarebirds. I think all of them have used those shorty headers you refer to.

If you want to keep it stock, correct exhaust manifolds are now available in reproduction.

        RE: Headers

The following is the only Squarebird header provider I'm aware of:

        fordpowert@comcast.net

They are pricey - $500, but what isn't in our hobby?
        Good luck,

              RE: Headers

how do these headers accomodate the exhaust riser valve that seems to play such an important role in how these cars run?

I certainly like the looks of those headers!

                RE: Headers

There are no accommodation for a heat riser. Headers are basically for warm weather use.

I did run in the 1980's a '73 Chevelle Malibu with a 4 bolt main 350cid with an aluminum manifold with no crossover and headers even in the winter. It needed to warm up a few minutes before it ran smoothly. ...and then it really ran.

Wow !!! those headers look nice !!
I wonder how/if 428 CJ exh manifs would work? Probably more pricey than those headers. Hmmm, I wonder how Ol Trigger would run with those and an Edelbrock intake ?? And Flowmasters?
May have to investigate this . . .

Been there, done that. If you add a new intake, get the Edelbrock RPM intake, the performer is almost like a stock intake. My car runs better, although it is still no racer. I would guess 15's in the quarter

                      RE: Headers

I read somewhere about a guy who used the cast iron headers (I believe he said they were from) a 406.
