1967 Cadillac convertible with continental kit

At first glance it is hard to appreciate how much work went into making this full-size tire continental kit on this 1967 Cadillac.

The bumper is not just cut into two pieces. The ends are welded closed and the pieces chromed as unit. It appears stock.

What other modifications do you notice that were made to make continental kit fit?

Of course, the quarter panels were lengthened.

AHA (Andrew A. Hotton of Belleville Michigan and Canada did some
beautiful work on 1975-1979 Lincoln Continentials along the same style, but they were much much nicer.) This Phoenician Ivory 1967 deVille required alot of work and perhaps a doner car to boot. Notice the side marker lights, made out of Caddy Wreaths & Crests, hollowed out with custom-made transparent crests. Side markers did not start until 1968. I recall vividly as I was in fact 75 years old then! BTW, the side chrome spear was custom made longer as was the rear cowl area increased. The trunk lid appears stock.

The quarter panels were not lengthened.

You are right, a side marker light was added.

Had to be ~ ~ or the trunk lid was shortened. 1 or the other.

The trunk was shortened. It is done so well, few people notice.
