    1965 Wimbledon White Special Landau

Recently a 1965 Special Landau, Wimbledon White, was registered. As you may know a small percentage of the '65 Specials were white. What makes this particular car even more interesting is its unusual data plate.

Take a look at it and see if you have any ideas as to what the DSO means.

    Here is a SWAG

Look at the keyboard graphic attached. It was supposed to have been typed 51 but it may have been a long day or a careless typist who was one row off and typed TQ.

    Just a thought.

I would LOVE to see a good picture of the window sticker! The reproductions are not accurate. Is it possible to post a picture of one? Thanks, Bob C

I thought this as well, I do not know how typewriters are set up, but wouldn't you have to hold down the shift button for capital TQ? If this is so then why would they have it held down if they meant to push 51?

Someone could have had the Shift Key Lock pushed down and did not know it. That could have caused him to type (SHIFT OR CAPS KEY LOCKED) TQ (SHIFT OR CAPS KEY UNLOCKED) instead of 51 if they had their fingers on the wrong keys. Whoever did it might not have realized they had the Shift or Caps key locked on... Makes about the best sense to me.

The machine that types the data plates may not even have upper and lower case. It may be some special kind of device that just types #'s and CAPS to punch the metal data plate from the info on the IBM card.

Have you ever seen one of those Dave D.?

              Look at your keyboard
What is below the "5" and the "1"?
              "T" and "Q".
              'nuff said.
