At that price, he may continue to own it for awhile longer... the ones I have seen usually go in the $100-$150 range.

If the price doesn't drive you away, the flat rate shipping of $100 probably will . . .

      Hey John,
I had tried and tried to win one of the fan shrouds on Ebay. Finally I was looking one day and one just had been listed for buy now $180.00, twenty dollars shipping. I jumped all over that!
My six blade fan I paid $40.00 plus $6.00 shipping. A few days after I received my fan another one arrived. I contacted the seller and it had been sent to me by mistake. It took several days to get FEDEX to come by and pick it up. The seller refunded all my money for the fan and shipping, because I had been so honest!

        Hi,

Fan shroud, seems hard to find but I read somewhere that a fan shroud from an old ford galaxie might fit also but just don't know what year?

Ronald: there are no known examples of shrouds put on at the factory for '60 TBirds.

Next best thing is one from a 1961 Galaxie. If you search the previous posts on this site you will find examples installed on member's cars. Alexander did one long . A little modification is needed but not a bad job and definite benefits.

After that you can buy a reproduction shroud made out of fiberglass, I believe, from Dearborn Classics. The cost is more than you would pay for the aforementioned '61 shrouds in most cases, however.

Between a shroud and a 6 blade fan, your cooling concerns pretty much are history.

          Happy Thanksgiving!!

            Thanks John,

any recommendations on the 6 blade fan? where to order?
I have a (new)ford ltd radiator since the old original one is missing already when I purchased the car.

              Fan shroud/fan

              Hi Ron!

You probably will be able to find a 6 bladed fan from one of the Tbird parts stores listed on the front, far right side of the Home page under Links. Here is the link to that. Try the Bird Nest first, and ask Don. If you have Skype, you should be able to call them for free. Or email them.

Here is the link to adding a metal or one of the fiberglass Dearborn Classics shrouds to your Tbird. I got my metal one off eBay and it came off a '63 Galaxie. You have to make some changes on the mounting tabs on the bottom to mount it. They had to be moved over some, as I recall.

You have to be very careful that you do not drill into the actual radiator core when drilling the top retaining screw holes. What you can do is put a length of rubber hose over your drill bit, and allow only a very short length of drill bit to show. Let the rubber hose stop you as soon as you get the hole drilled.

These metal shrouds off these Big Fords, like the Galaxie, work great! So does a five bladed fan or six bladed fan. My Tbird had AC on it when I bought it and as I recall, all Tbirds with AC came with 5 bladed fans, I think. You should be able to find the metal Galaxie type fans for sale on eBay. Others have used the fiberglass Dearborn model. It is all covered in the link to the shrouds. You will see a picture of what the six bladed fan looks like. John Byers, byersmtrco active on the Forum, supplied the information and pictures to Alexander for the article.

I am not sure these fan shrouds will fit that LTD II radiator. If it has about the same shape and dimensions of the original radiator it probably will. Considering what part of the world you live in, being Finland, I dont know if you would even need a fan shroud. Unless it gets a lot hotter during the summer months in Finland that I realize!

If you want a five blade fan, I have one you are welcome to for $10 and UPS ground. I got it before the 6 blade one.

You can find 6 blade fans on Ebay fairly often. A search that includes "Ford FE" helps. Not alot of money, but good results.

Will one of you guys tell me what color a 6 blade fan should be?? My vague memory is the only place they came originally (in Squarebirds) was on 1960, maybe with ACs. What I can't recall is if they should be white or black.

                  Hi John,
Thanks for your offer, I think I will take it. I send you a pm on it later.
I forgot , concerning the fan shroud, that I have a ford LTD radiator(new), not sure what year so I will have to look for a fan shroud that fits that radiator and at the same time can house the fan.
Not sure, is the fan coming into the shroud or does it sit just before it?

I will include pic of a similar type of radiator I have now ,it fits with a little modification.
The measurements are about 29.53 inches wide and 22.83 high.

just found out about the radiator its of a '84 LTD with a 351 Cid engine.
                  Regards
                  Ron

I have seen the six bladed fan blades painted black. I have also seen them painted white... I do not know if there is an official color or not.
