I would offer four grand because it has a six with a two-speed Fordomatic. This is a base Ford 300 with a radio and heater, not a Fairlane or Galaxie. It does have the bumper guards on front and rear (which is rare). Convertibles and retractibles are worth more, but not this. If this car had a 352 and a 3-speed COM it would be worth more. - DaveMember, Sons of the American Revolution

It's worth what someone will pay for it; no more, no less.

Perhaps I should've started this thread as not "what is it worth?", but "what would you pay for it?"
I've seen so many '57 Chevy's, but very very few of THESE cars.Comment

As much as I like '59 Fords that model never did anything for me. Unless you have some sentimental attachment to it it's just a nice original car that's interesting to look at.

Ours turns heads everywhere we take it. Y-blocks sound the absolute best of any engine, by all accounts. Car buffs are eager and excited to ask us to raise the hood. We always oblige.
Too bad there aren't more out there at a reasonable cost. - DaveMember, Sons of the American Revolution

I wouldn't mind picking up a nice '59 convertible seeing that prices are fairly low right now. They're pretty rare though. I had a retractable quite a few years ago but traded it for a '64 Thunderbird. Probably should've kept it.

There's always the 1959 Ford SUNLINER option to look for too (soft top).
I'm surprised this clean '57 Fairlane had bidding that high, myself.

He should've taken the $7600. That's probably more than it's worth. Just about every car that dealer has listed on Ebay has an unrealistic price.

I agree, John. The seller thinks he has gold. No, it's a pig in a poke.
I love the look of this car, and I would immediately start upgrading it to include a V8, three speed auto trans, etc. There's no A/C, PB or PS. But, 7k is way too much to start. This car is much better off appreciated for what it really is, a stock family transport perfectly suited for country roads.
Y'all have a great Thanksgiving. Thanks for the phone call and well wishes, Lenny Wheeler. BTW, I'm going to stick my neck out and wish the Detroit Lions a well deserved and glorious victory over the Houston Texans, today. - DaveMember, Sons of the American Revolution

I see its been relisted with a "buy it now" price of over $15K. Dang.Comment

Not surprising, a lot of people get a piece of the pie along the way. He can ask for the moon and stars; who know, some collector who intends to keep this car as a garage queen may jump on it. In its original state, this model is nice to look at.
In my opinion, seven grand is twice what this car is worth.Member, Sons of the American Revolution

You guys have been "right on the money" with this car.
It's been listed three times, and has ended with four-digit bids each time.Comment
