Will it be a Thunderlet or Chevrobird?

Considered an EFI engine for mine once.......

Engine mounts, exhaust changes, shifter linkage, throttle linkage, oil pan clearance, radiator hose mods, transmission mounts and cooler lines, new fuel tank and lines for the EFI, fuel pump, new drive shaft, mount the "pooter" and wire in, wiring (voltage regulator not needed with alternator?).........

When I finished with my list I decided to look harder for an original engine.

Hope your swap goes super easy and you can get it finished before gas hits $8 a gallon. Every time I get mine running great gas prices go up.

      Keep us posted!!

I work in a GM Parts Dept.
That's a good combo. 4L80's are bullet proof.
The 6.0 is a power house. AND you'll get 20 mpg.

You'll need the eng harn, the control modules, the serp belt drive syst.
You will have to adapt your fuel tank for an in tank pump, or do a frame
mounted. Needs 60 psi to light that injector off.

The stk 3.10 ratio might be a bit steep for an OVD Trans.
            You'll probl want to swap out for 3.25 or 3.50 ratio . . .
Which will make it even quicker.
            Either way . . . HANG ON !!
Better get some good brakes. Minor technicality HA HA !!

              I missed some pages.
              You're going more orig ?

              My 390 runs pretty good.
(IF) I was going to swap something else in, it would be a 460
A 428 would do in a pinch (Heh heh !!!)

Im actually using the entire chassis from the van. Its gonna be a unibody on frame. the roof will be about 5'8 off the ground. I decided to have a 2009 3500 Tbird so i have modern everything. Ac maybe down the road.

Check out the progress on my instagram.

That being said I live in Houston Texas so if anyone need like new leafsprings or any of the power steering rack i replaced all that stuff not many miles ago lol.

I wont need the control arms which have new bushings in the or the new gas tank either likely.

with the elevated height i think i can squeeze the stock big *** tank into the tunnel.

Going to set it on the frame then after that i will move the rear axle up 3.5 ft might go with airbags if that ends up being easier.

Not sure if you are talking about the T-Bird or the SS pictured above. I might be interested in those leaf springs, assuming they are for '59 TBird.. I'm in Austin, and could drive down to pick em up in the truck. Debugging issues with power steering currently. Got some vibration at the pump, squealing when PS engages. Hope it's just a belt, looking for leaks now.

Anyone know of a cheaper alternative for the $150 power steering tester gauges? They are basically a T valve (with on/off) on a pressure gauge that goes up to 1000psi or so.
