Ok, I have been able to put almost 300 miles on my car and all be dog gone if I don't keep forgeting to turn off my turn signal. When I take a turn I am so used to my daily driving car's turn signal turning off once I make the turn, however my 60 hardtop does not automatically turn off. Is this how it is supposed to be or do I have an issue that I can fix. I appreciate any light anyone can shine on this for me. Thanks, Dan

RE: Turn Signal stays on until I turn it off???
When you remove the steering wheel, you will find a "C" shaped "sleeve" pressed on the back of it. This device serves to cancel your turn signal once the steering wheel is turned past a certain point.
Over the years, this sleeve develops a groove in it and it won't click off the signals any more.
Just take the sleeve off - remembering which direction the "C" is oriented, and flip it over so there is a fresh surface for the signal canceling mechanism to work on.
Then your turn signals will cancel when you turn the wheel.
Check out some of the other threads on this board dealing with the detent plate and you can find diagrams of the whole steering wheel area and you will see the C shaped piece I am referrring to.
