Of course this is in my '60 which is a little less aerodynamic but an interesting thread Steve.....

Rebuilt 352 (possibly a 360 - haven't checked - bought it with no papers) and standard cruise-o-matic trans using 87 Octane "Regular" unleaded. Has a brand new 0-80457S 4160 Holley carb w/ elec. choke (aka POS).

    11.2 (highway only)
    10.6
    9.7
    10.9

??? Those are EFI numbers? I would expect at least 1/3 more efficiency.
Eric's numbers are more typical for a carbureted engine. - Dave

Maybe Yadkin has a lead foot.

        I get 10MPG with a re-built 352 (357) .0030 over, with a Cruise-O-Matic and 310 rear end running 92-93 octane.

17mpg from the 390 in my '66 Town Landau that had 4 occupants and a heap of luggage on a recent trip.

But that is using Imperial gallons - "your result may differ"!

Before the carb rebuild and fitting a new functional vacuum advance I would get 13mpg.
