    Dan & Marg's '58 & '60 Tbirds Pix

Dan and Marg Leavens drove their '58 & '60 Tbirds to their own private S&S last weekend. They were very well received. Here are some of the pix that Dan sent me for ya'll to enjoy. I suspect that these are two very pampered Tbirds!

Bob: I bought the 58HT for my wife and the 60HT for me as a " his & hers " kinda thing.. As the good married man ( as we all know ) the wife's car always leads.

Richard: There will be one for your wife that she likes, as it took awhile for the right one for mine to like it. The best part is we get to spend three (3) to four (4) hours together doing something we both love doing.

          Emblem

          Very nice Birds Dan.
It's great when your partner is into it as much as you are. I'm into cars & Sports, especially Golf, but my Wife doesn't really care for either. On a curious note what's the Emblem on the '60s front Fenders?

I think that's a mat to protect the fender while you work on it (not that a TBird would ever need work....). Can anyone tell me where you get one??

            Pairs . . . just a terrific concept!! Yes...

              Emblems

              Hi John,
I wasn't reffering to the Guard Protector but the 2-3'' Emblems on both sides of the front Guards of the '60. I've got the Protector myself, from Larry's.

Ladies / Gentlemen: You all have keen eyes and yes both 58HT & the 60 HT have 59 " gunnel sites" as they are called. Now, I was very fortunate to have just won on Ebay an original pair of 58 gunnel sites still in their box. which will be installed soon. The 58 is 100% original except for the Coker radials and the wire wheels. Now as you can see with the 60HT we went a little different and radical being Moroccan Ivory and blackwith chroming dress up and rear antenna and I didn't like the 60 gunnel sites, as they were clear and the 59 were brand new and BLACK. Hope this explains our classics.

                      Hi Dan,
I wasn't referring to the Gunnel Sites. As far as I know all three SquareBirds have them, but somewhat different to each other. It's the '60 in question on the side of the front guards not the tops.

I was looking at Larry Watson's 58 on you tube

Larry Watson intorduced "Panel Painting" and "Customizing With Paint" with this awesome 1958 Thunderbird.

and it has badges on the fender in the same spot (roughly). I wonder if these were after market?

Chris sorry I thoght you were referring to the gunnel sites on the top of the fenders. They are chrome and black checkerboard " 352 " pins ( about 3" X 2" ) that I installed that I bought off EBay. When I made the decision to bring the 60 back a little different to period correct ie: chrome package they seemed to fit my eye and also add a little detail to the front quarters.
