    Looking for an aftermarket radiator upgrade/'60

    Hey all;
    I've had it with the overheating already..I'd like to hear from anyone who has put an aftermarket setup in their big-bird...
    I've been talking to Griffin, but that's going to be big bucks.
    Can I get away for the short term with removing my thermostat completely for optimum water flow?

    U could run pure distilled water and add a couple bottles of the Red Line brand "Water Wetter". U will have no freeze protection though...

      Do NOT completely remove your themostat. How old and what temp rating is your current themostat? How do you know that your water pump is not the issue? I have a 180 and an overflow catch can and it seems to work OK. I know there are some members that have installed a fan shroud and have been very happy with the results.

        John,

        Go see Willy at San Jose Radiator on Lincoln righrt near Parkmoor (by AJ's ha ha)

        He put a four row core in mine. Cost me about 250. Btwn that and my shroud AND the 7 blade fan, it WILL NOT over heat.

        See you tomorrow.
        Sounds like the beginning of a train wreck w/permits . . .
