    gas tank removal

    Hi all,

I am getting ready to remove and replace my crud-filled gas tank.
Any hints or suggestions before I begin this latest "adventure"?

    RE: gas tank removal

Gas tank removal is really easy on thes cars. Just make sure to soak the bolts that hold the gas tank straps and the fuel line fitting. Use flare wrenchs for the gas line fittings.

It is recommended that you drain the gas tank before removing it. It is easy to drain the tank using the drain on the forward right.

Open the trunk, pull up the mat and one screww holds down the access cover plate. the sending wire pulls straight off from the sender. To remove the sender. Rotate the hold-down ring counterclockwise using a broad srewdriver and a hammer. Hit each tab on the hold-down ring a little bit and then proceed to the next one.
