I found the pictures. I get a lot of e-mail. Sometimes it is hard to see the important stuff.

The pictures can be found here: http://www.squarebirds.org/seatbelt_installation.htm

Ok so this is a 1958.... here is an important note to all Alexander
you say in your picture " the seatbelt is worn by threading the cloth strap inside the metal buckle. It is not a metal to metal connection as in later seatbelts."

It is important to know that the belt part threads UNDER the BUCKLE and over the TOP and is them held in place by puhing on the buckle... it is does NOT work by Threading the belt into the Buckle and then pushing down.....

Correct me if you think i am wrong.. but I beleive this is right or the strap has a tendency to loosen faster and come out!
(I will add pics to my installations tech page)

I would like to see exactly how it is used.

If the belt has a tendency to loosen, no wonder they changed the design after that.

I will get pics tomorrow for you, and show you how it has to be done..The way most folks think does not work at all....it is so UNSAFE you might as well not even wear them at all.
We will look at it tomorrow and get your opinion on it!

Nice diagrams. Does it hold in place in the way you describe to secure the belt, or does it have a tendency to loosen anyway?

Did the belts come with any instructions?

No instructions at all and yes they have a tendency to loosen as the "teeth" in the buckle are the only thing that holds them secure.. but hey...it is better than no belt..

You will have the only Squarebird I have ever seen with factory rear seat belts. In fact I can only recall one that had aftermarket ones. The car had a red interior and the owner put in surplus blue aircraft seatbelts.
