    Brake pedal

I have a 60 hardtop with power brakes. It sat in a
garage for 25 years at my Uncles house. When he passed
away last fall inherited it. My problem is when I step
on the brake pedal it goes to the floor and stays there.
I just rebuilt the master cylinder today and verified
that it pumps brake fluid into the brake line which it
wasnt doing before. but the pedal still stays on the floor.
Lets just say I had a hair raising ride in my driveway!!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Rick

    RE: Brake pedal

Most likely the wheel cylinders or lines have a leak. Check the wheel cylnders first. The brake line may have also rusted away under the plates that hold it up under the car on the drivers side.

You also did not mention if you bled the system after replacing the master cylinder. If there is air in the system, you will get a soft pedal as air is compressible.
