    EBAY Auction

Anybody here know what this is? It looks nothing like anything on a 1958-60 TBird to me. More like a 1957 Chevy Bel-Aire maybe...? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...id=p2761.l1259

Just making sure I'm not going crazy!! LOL!!!

    Glad it's just not me

I was trying to figure out where it went and couldn't come up with anything. The same seller has a gas door that look like the real thing for $45.

Well I know I'm stumped.... The seller claims to have sold 5 of them this year and that he took it of a '60 bird.... I think I smell something out in the pasture

              That's a 1966 T-bird fuel door.

AH ha!!! I knew someone here would figure it out. I tried to help/tell the seller that his posting was erroneous (to help him sell the part) "Frank58", and he sent me a rude email back also saying that "well we have sold FIVE of these this year, and they did come off a 1958-60 T-Bird, so they "refused" to change anything..." !!!?? Oh well...

Those are some of the better ebay auctions for the buyers. When the sellers list incorrectly, that narrows the potential buyers since it hard to find. For those of us that stumble onto the auction and recognize the item, we have a better chance of paying less. His loss for not considering your advise.

the guy probably thinks the '66 TBird he's yanking parts from is really a '60 model. I can't tell you how many times a guy has tried to argue with me and tell me my '60 was really a '61 or a '62.
Gee...really?...I feel so stupid now..thank you sir for correcting my ignorance...
I guess the stack of dealer brochures, data plate, and oh, I don't know..the freakin car body is ALL incorrect.

                      Gas Door Auction

Sorry, but you're ALL wrong! That gas door is for a '61-'63 T-bird. '64-'66 used a squareish sheet metal door painted body color on the driver's quarter panel. What you're looking at is a rectangular chrome-plated door that sits in the upper center of the center section of the bumper assembly. For the record, the '57 Chevrolet's door has a triangular-like profile styled to match the rear fender trim, since it was part of the driver's side rear fender trim. This looks nothing like a '57 Chevy gas door.

I need to look for one for my '63 HT, but don't want to deal with auctions right now.

Wow, I got that wrong, considering I have a 1961-63 gas tank door on my workbench.
