Hi there,
I have finally found a dual brake master cylinder which could fit on my Bird, to replace the single MC. It's actually meant to be put on a 1990 Dodge Ramcharger (Bendix #11860), but who cares.
Man it's hard to get info (being in Holland). Bendix, Raybestos, Wagner, Napa, partsamerica, ....., all addresses I tried will hardly help me because they are affraid for liability troubles.
Anyway, this MC seems correct, the only thing is, it has no residual valves built in, which I need for my (4x) drum brake application.
1.) Does anyone have experience with (drum brakes) installing a master cylinder without the residual valves? Did air enter the system, or was pedal travel increased?
2.) If not, does anyone know which master cylinder is equal to the Bendix #11860 (plastic oil reservoir, bore 1 1/8"), however includes the residual valves in both systems?
3.) Does anyone know where (on internet) I can search for an MC by typing in required dimensions, instead of by car make and year? By searching by car make and year I can never find non original parts.
Thanks,
Hans
