flipper lid not erect

Opened up the lid no problem. But shouldn't the lid be straight up. Jittle saggage about 1 inch. Whats my problem. Our there adjustments that can be tighten. Larry

Larry, any system left stagnant for a long time will quickly fail, even your brake system.

Your top is controlled by electrical relays, valves and limit switches, and the main power source is hydraulic. These parts need to be worked periodically. Electrical contacts clean themselves when cycled. Hydraulic seals and fluid work better after a few cycles because any trapped air 'works itself out'. The same holds true for power steering; run the steering wheel from lock to lock.

The worst thing you can do is to NOT cycle any automation, including your convertible top. The idea of, "Hey it works, now leave it alone" does not apply here.

When I got my 63SR the semi-retired owner of the local Ford dealership came by to check it out. He was selling these cars new and said back in the day they always encouraged convertible owners to cycle the top at least 2 cycles every two weeks. Of course this never happened in the winter time, and he said they usually had several tops that were inoperable in the Spring. Mine had been stored for 27 years and worked the first time!! The party was soon over as things started to fail in weeks to come but all my issues were solved by studying the manuals.
