    Cut vacuum lines?

Hello guys, today I noticed that two of the rubber lines (I guess those are vacuum lines) are cut with no ending .

They were simply placed in the engine bay with no sealed ending and with one another piece of rubber line placed beside them. On the pictures bellow I marked where are the lines going to.

Can you please advise what are lines for? Thank you.

perhaps to a windshield washer pump? Do you have
any remnants of that system? Bag on the firewall? Switch to the left of the driver and steering wheel?

Yes, the bag is there, no connections going to it. What concerns me though, is it ok that the lines are not sealed somehow if they are not used?

        Cut vacuum lines?

Do you have the type of fuel pump with the two "nipples" on top of it? If you do, normally, the vacuum lines come off both of them. One goes from the T connector attached to the engine by the distributor to the input side of the vacuum fuel pump if that is what you have. The other goes to the passenger side firewall to the vacuum windshield wiper motor. There is a T connector up by the drivers side firewall in your picture by the master cylinder. One of those lines runs to the input side of that T connector attached to the engine block by the distributor. One of those hoses at that T-connector by the MC runs to the Kelsey-Hayes under the dash booster, which you must have. I do not see the Bendix booster under the hood. Just the OEM MC. Check out the Technical Resource Library and the Vacuum Hose Routing for the Squarebird. I think those hoses in your pictures might be related to this. I could be wrong though.

I have an electric fuel pump installed. Not sure if that could be related to this issue anyhow.

Those are both for the windshield washer system. The one that goes under the hood latch goes to the washer switch next to the driver side dash. The only way to tell if it's hooked up is to start the car, push the washer switch and put your finger on the end of the rubber line. If you feel vacuum then it's hooked up and working. My guess is that it's not and there's no harm leaving it the way it is. The line going to the T connector is just for the washer squirters in the cowl. There's no harm leaving it hanging.

Thanks, John, for that diagnosis! That makes more sense than my idea...
