We have a new user on the Forum in Walter, who happens to live in my city. He is restoring his '55 Babybird, and finds that the rear wheel well tubs are pretty rusted. Thanks to Joe Johnston and others, I have contacted about a half dozen known suppliers of Babybird parts. However, so far we have not had any success in finding these left and right rear wheel tubs. I have been told that the '55, '56 and '57 tubs are identical, but the extensions on each year are different. However, I am also told that those extensions are available as aftermarket items. But the rear wheel well tubs are not. So far, Walter has only sent me one small picture of his '55 showing the rear end of it. He hopes to take some bigger, better pix of that area so you can better see what he has on his hands.
If push comes to shove, seeing that he owns a steel fabrication company, he could make those tubs but prefers not to have to spend the time and effort to do so. He would rather find a good set and replace what is there with them. So far, I have talked with Hills Tbird, who is looking, Feno's, tried to get Bob Schermerhorn, but he is out of pocket, Tony's Classic who is also looking, Concours, no luck there, Gary Vukovic, but he is also out of pocket for a few more weeks, Prestige Tbird who is looking, as is Don Hyde here in Texas.
Here is that one pic and if I get more, I will post them for you to see.
