I disconected my linkage from the bottom of the steering column and worked the trans. linkage by hand. it goes through all the gears but when i pull it up to park gear , something in the trans is binding. will not go into park. has anyone had this problem. can the parking gear and pawl be accessed by removing the pan or do you have to take the trans apart. thanks jim at jamesrozzo@yahoo.com or call me 412-464-2918

The procedure is the same as replacing selector shaft seal(s).
The valve body has to be removed;
