59 rear spring packs

hi i have just replaced all the bushs and rubbers and spacer pads on the rear springs ,, could someone pls tell me how much thread protrudes after the ubolts have been hand tightend ,, the service manual says to 30-45 ft pnds but i feel uncomfortable going to this ..

My service manual shows 30-45* ---*10 pounds less torgue for a used nut.so if I was doing this I would either get new u-bolts or follow the spec's in the manual. I don't know why the reduce the Ft.-Lbs. for used nuts unless you might strip the u-bolts with higher Ft.-Lbs.
