    59/60 J-BIRD Engine Colors

I have forgotten (and/or lost) the engine colors of the 59/60 430 BIRD. Can someone describe them to me or show a good quality photo?

    59/60 J-BIRD Engine Colors

    Hi Gary,

According to William Wonder's Tbird Restoration Guide, 1958-1966, page 66, there is a picture provided by Alan Tast. The description states that the 1959 430 had smooth, black painted valve covers, engine block assembly, and white air cleaner. On the opposite page is the picture, also from Alan, of the 1960 430 engine. It says it remained visibly unchanged from the previous year. So there ya go!

      THANX RAY!

I have stored photos of differing MEL engines and I had one set showing blue rocker covers. You have answered my question.

        Ray's posts are correct.

The non-A/C 430cid Birds also had the white 4-blade fans, as opposed to the black A/C 5-blade fans...
