    Fun With User ID Names....

Mike, now THAT is a story as to how you got your User ID! That was like reading a novel and it had my attention all the way through it! Thanks for taking the time and effort to tell it!

Long story, but very entertaining. What year was it.? At a guess, I'd say between mid sixties or early seventies.

Yes, I find my long term memory is better than my short term memory these days. Forget where did I leave my ever-present coffee cup, where did I put my reading glasses, keys, etc. Did I actually take my med's or get distracted by tv or Internet and not take them..

That was a fantastic read, loved it. Bet no-one would try that now or get away with it!

My screen ID comes from the old puppet show, The Thunderbirds, and one of the centrl characters was called Lady Penelope. So I thought Penelope will do me even though I am a male.

No where near as exciting as Brushwolf though!

For those of you in the USA, you may never have heard of The Thunderbirds or Thunderbirds Are Go! cartoon show of the '60's that started in England and spread throughout the Commonwealth. Here is some information regarding it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbirds_(TV_series) Thunderbirds Are Go... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfIAKj3Gl1E Season 1, Episode 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLiH4xrCITI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwKLgTUb-EQ

My name originated when I first started work at one of our local TV stations. I got the name as soon as I walked in the door. My fellow workers had obviously been alerted to my arrival and had put some thought into it. My nickname is "Stubbie" and my last name is Holder. In Australia we have ( what used to be) a small fat bottle of beer called a "Stubby". We have a neoprene cover to keep the beer cold known as a "Stubby Holder". Hence the nicknname "Stubbie". I changed the spelling because I'm not short and fat.

My user ID , mh434 , is also a warbird reference. Mh434 is a mk9 spitfire with a continuous history from when it left the castle Bromwich factory. It was owned by the late Sir Adrian Swire of Cathay Pacific , then sold at auction at Duxford to Ray Hanna, the greatest post war spitfire display pilot. Ray died in December 2005 but 434 is still operated and displayed by the The Old Flying Machine Company.
