    gasket for trans

    Hi!

I have a 61 Tbird, with a Cruis O Matic, and I'm about to buy a gasket for the oil pan on it. But the dealer asks me if I have a "MEDIUM CASE" or not?

Can any of you tell me what case it is on this model?

    Regards

    Ronny:

From what I've read, the designation of Small (FX), Medium (MX) and Large (HX) transmission case only applies to the 51-60 3 speed COM.

Beginning in 1961, there is no designation of small, medium or large case-- it is just a COM (with a transmission tag ID of PCE-B) on the left side of the transmission case.

You should have a medium case/MX. The large-case version was used on Lincolns, small case behind Y-blocks and 6-cylinders.

I would go with what Alan says on this, as he is more knowledgeable of the tranny installations/types.

Thanks for your help, I will go for the medium case then.
