    Cool Craft

Any body use them before? I ordered a high efficiency 3 core radiator set up with electric fans and a shroud from them today. I hope they make good stuff and was wondering if anybody has used them?

What did you get??? Copper? Aluminum? Nothing beats copper. That's why your car came with one.

Apparently, Cool Craft only markets the copper/brass unit for all three years of Squarebirds, according to their website. You can get a 3 core or a 4 core, but aluminum is not an option for the Squarebird. I see they carry radiators for Tbirds up through 1988.

yes, their high efficiency 3 core. It is a approx. a $100 addition. Has the same amount of rows as a 4 core but takes up the space of a 3 core. I measured almost exactly 3in of space between the water pump nose and radiator. The electric fan and custom shroud take up 2 3/4 of an inch. So I didn't think the 4 core would fit.... I elected for their "special" 3 core.

            Cool Craft

Ryan, thanks for the information on this. We do not have Cool Craft listed in our Advertisements Forum. If this turns out to be a good installation for you please let me know. This might be a company we may want to add to our Technical Resource Library and the Advertisements Forum as a source for a new radiator, electric fans and shroud. It sounds like this might be a good way to go if one is having to add a new radiator, and at the same time, wants to add electric fans and a shroud! What can you tell us about the electric fans and the shroud? Do you have a 130+amp alternator on your Tbird? You are going to need one for those fans. Do they provide the fan controller also (if I have the right word for that)? As for the shroud, is it one of the ABS plastic ones?

as far as alternator goes, I have no idea. LOL I haven't looked yet. They do provide a fan wiring kit with a sensor for an additional $49 I think it was. The shroud is made of aluminium. I have been looking a Ford 1 wire alternators at 130 amps, so it may be happening so I know what I have any way. I really don't like the way everything looks up front, especially with the AC compressor. I also ordered corrugated upper and lower radiator hoses to try to help it out.

I am sure that Dave ~ simplyconnected, john ~ jopizz and others will suggest that you not go with a 1 wire alternator. They can tell you which alternator to look for. 3 wire is probably the better way to go because it will allow you to use your Gen light still. It is important that light still work so that it can tell you if the alternator stops charging the battery, like if a belt broke... I am surprised that the shroud is aluminum. Most of them I know of are the ABS plastic type, unless you get a metal one off a parts car.

almost 2 months to the date, I finally got it. Took them for ever but the quality looks pretty good. Going to polish that shroud.
