    Squarebirds on the Hemmings Blog

In the apst few weeks there have been two posts featuring SQuarebirds.

First, this post about finds at this year's Hershey meet featured this beautiful '59, with matching Thunderbird Jr. and what looks like a dealer promo model:

Asking price was $30K. Does that seem high to anyone else?

Then there was this post with a old junkyard photo with a prominently displayed '60 convertible (or is it a coupe with a flattened roof?):

Speculation was it's from the early 70's. With very little rust and no visible major collision damage, the sad fact here is this was probably simply thrown out because it was old. Makes your heart ache, doesn't it?

It's certainly too high for a coupe. Maybe a nice convertible might bring that much these days the way the economy is. Looks like it has a VTCI plate on the grill.

My thoughts exactly. And that '60 has been gone for probably 40 years.

Yeah, that seems like convertible money. I suppose if it was highly optioned (judging by the firewall, though, it doesn't have AC), 100 pt. perfect, included the 'toys' and was a 430 car, maybe ... .

Not only that, but that Tbird in the 1st pic also has the single stage MC/Power Booster combo under the hood on it, and not the KH power booster.
