    RE: 1960 Fan Shroud

The more I ponder it, my conclusion becomes firmer. The Squarebirds were known to have an overheating problem from the start, especially if they had A/C. I would doubt that Ford would make a unique part for the Thunderbird and then just install it on a handful of cars. I suspect that the actual story is that the dealers in 1960 adapted the 1960 full size Ford shroud to help solve the coooling problem for a few customers. This would be why original late model year 1960 Thunderbirds such as mine lack a fan shroud.

I might just get that shroud to see if it works. It may settle the 1960 Thunderbird fan shroud question once and for all.

I had the high bid for the fan shroud. I should be getting it in a week or so. I will document what I find and how it fits the Squarebirds.

I have read that the squarebird suffers from over heating but i never suffer this problem. The 430 is an air car and it dont over heat neither does the 352 .
The only time it runs hot is when i stop to get fuel then so as i am get going again it cools off.

            Kevin,

It never gets more then 75 degrees Fahrenheit in England, does it? or should I say 24 degrees Celsius. The real reason your car keeps so cool is due to that special high temp US fan blade I sent you. LOL

I received it last week, but did not get back from vacation until today. It looks like it may fit without any modifications. I will take some pictures of it tonight. I will try to fit it tomorrow on my 1960 Golde Top.
