    Cigarette Lighter

I am fairly sure that what I am asking here has been discussed before but on searching the TRL, I can't seem to find it.

On my '59, I have the original cigarette lighter holder & lighter which still works fine. However when I plug in the GPS charger, no power to the unit.
The charger works fine in my modern cars, just not in the Tbird.
Is the depth of the Tbird holder deeper than modern cars & maybe not making contact at the base??

    Thanks guys

Depth hasn't changed. You may have debris at the bottom of the socket.

The whole cigarette lighter assembly unscrews from the back of your dash:
    Disconnect the power wire,
Wrap your hand around the housing and turn. The housing shell has a normal RH thread rolled into the sheet metal.

These lighter assemblies are very available as they were used on millions of cars. (Ford didn't make them but used them in just about all their cars and trucks over many decades.)

      Thanks Dave
All sorted. Was debris in the base. Works great now.
