I haven't done anything with the rear coils yet as that part has dropped off the priority list. So it is pretty wallowy if that is a good word. The front suspension, steering linkage, and power steering has all been rebuilt. It runs 80+mph easily.

'58 rear booster spring shocks

I recently installed a new pair of Monroe gas load-leveller spring booster shocks on the rear of our '58. Haven't had it on the road for any extended test yet (lots of other issues to deal with), but the initial impressions is that this is a major upgrade. Stiffer with much less sway and wallowing, and tighter/safer handling is my expectation. Also raised the rear slightly which it needed (most '58s sag in the rear, and really do if there is any load in the trunk). Supposed to add 750 lbs. capacity if I recall correctly. I researched the part numbers and specs, and came up with a nearly perfect match, I think (slightly shorter than the originals, but shouldn't be a problem at all, imo). The shocks I picked are for the rears of '65-72 LTD/Galaxies, if I recall. I saved the boxes and part numbers, but don't have them in front of me at the present (25 miles away). I can tell you the numbers if you give me a few days. This modification will cost a point in judging, but I don't care.
