    RE: Engine problem

finally after spending 4 hours measuring the caps i could pinpoint there location in the engine block so i know they are on the right places.

so then starts my next problem a little dirt came on of my main bearings on the backside and i aint able to remove it. im thinking about using 1200 sandpaper or something softer so remove it. anyone have any experience with that?

polishing with fine sand paper is ok... just don't get carried away..
on race engines we some times chamfer or grind grooves in the bearings but this is a race only mod. long life is not our goal

on the dirt you mention, I would be inclined to try and wash/dissolve it with something like laquer thinner first, paper towels. Failing that, some very fine (OOO grade) steel wool along with the solvent.

Treat the entire operation with your bearings as a "white glove" affair. Keep good paper towels around for frequently cleaning surfaces, your hands and anything else, along with compressed air. A fibre from a paper towel can actually damage the face of a soft bearing!
