that is the engine from my sons 67' Galaxie. It's a .030 over 428 cj block, roller rockers but flat tappet 270H cam, 450hp/504fp torque car weight is about the same as Squarebird. The headers in the pic are Hooker supercomps and unfortunatly won't work on our cars. I have the FPA's on my 60' and they work well, but will be bilding my own 2" long tube headers for the new engine. The one in the works for my 60' bird will be in the 500+hp range backed buy a heavily reworked AOD tranny and a scratch built HD 9" rear, but for now the mild 390/cruise-o combo works pretty well. I considered going big and high HP but with it being a convertible and my dads before he passed I decided on the 390 com combination. I have toyed with the idea of after this one is done building a radical 60 coupe. Tubbed, shaved, reworked wheel wells etc. Just in case I have squirreled away a nice 429, a builder 460, nice 390 w/c6 and a truck 360 block for a big stroker. You can never have to many motors you know. Keep us updated on the new motor/trans install. Thanks for sharing. Grant

"Dads Bird" for my father
Has anyone actually done this on their Squarebird? Pardon my ignorance but does a supercharger sit on top of the engine? And if so, wouldn't that be problematic when it comes to shutting the hood?
Cheers
Hi Karl,
Never saw it on a Squarebird, but collected some pics from the internet a while ago from a Bulletbird.
Needless to talk about closing this hood:
