I was in the process of replacing my wiper motor and noticed small holes in the lines. Rather than going thru the trouble of replacing the motor I just changed the vacum linees and hoped for the best. The wipers work fine. Just a heads up in case anyone else might have a problem. i am the second owner of the car. It sat in a barn in northern Nevada for 30 years and the mice probably did the damage.

RE: Windshield wipers 59 hdt.
good example for people to benefit from! If anyone is serious about their wiper system working properly they have to put some time in checking for any and all leaks in it. New hose as well as some grease is good. If you have the washer switch to the left of the driver, it is especially suspect. The fuel pump itself should be putting out in the vicinity of 15-18 inches of vacuum to then drive the motor. If your motor is then found to be not up to the job, see [http://www.wiperman.com/] where they do a fast and terrific job rebuilding them, even with a warranty.
