Our esteemed member, Alan Tast, is a long time member of the Vintage Thunderbird Club International (VTCI) and involved in the preparation of their Official Factory Specifications book and CD on what our Tbirds had on them when they left the factory. Recently, he has published in the March/April VTCI Scoop, a compilation of exterior paint colors and interior colors. The survey is based on the number received, including those cars that are known to have been crushed, parted out, or still with us. He says that only about 50% of the total cars produced have been documented. There is no known records available on the breakdown on Convertibles.

Based on that, here are the statistics gathered on Paint Code H Beachwood Brown Metallic. 44 Reported or 3%. If it had a Black top, 63 confirmed, 31 unconfirmed or 43.52%. If it had a White top, 67 confirmed, 39 unconfirmed or 49.07%. If it had a Blue top, 9 confirmed, 7 unconfirmed or 11.51%.

For the interior color combination for what you called Code 84 Tan Leather, they called Beige Leather. 82 instances, or 5.61%.

You may want to look at this website... http://automotivemileposts.com/contentstbird.html

Once there, click on 1960, and then click on the Interior link. You will find that in the 1960 year, that Interior code 84 was the only leather interior that was two-toned for that year, darker tan/light tan... That makes it a pretty rare combination.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunatelly the link doesn't work for me. I just bought the car and haven't even got the top up yet, but it looks like it is tan as well. Rare?
      Thanks,
      Matt

        Hi Ken,

I do not know why that website would not come up for you. I clicked on the link and it came right up for me again. Try this one, which is the 1960 web page.. As for the top, there are only 3 top colors stated. Black, White, and Light Blue. It could be white, only has aged to look like tan over the years.
