    Does anyone know this car?

Hi I am looking for a Thunderbird and came across this one today on CL in San Francisco:

Are there any red flags in the pictures that I might be unaware of and is $8000 a fair price for an a/c & sunroof car? Condition is everything, but I was wondering if the combination was a rare one?

It looks like a decent original car. However it could cost quite a few bucks to get the a/c working. The last car I bought from northern California was completely rusted out in the outer and inner rockers, quarters and radiator support so I would go over it with a fine tooth comb if you are interested in buying it. It looks to have the tan leather interior so I would imagine it's probably cracked from age. To me $8000 is too high. If it's rust free I would start at $5000 and go from there. It's a buyers market.

I think it has been "for sale" for some months at least. It may be a good buy, but I start to wonder when something has been for sale at a "fair" price for a "long" time.

There were only 2,536 Golde Tops made, so yes, it is pretty rare, especially since there are not that many of them left. It is a pretty unique car, not quite a convertible, but with the capability of opening the roof and making it a semi-convertible. Here is a link you might want to check out. Also, look in the Technical Resource Library for the Vehicle Check List at the bottom of the TRL that our members put together. You might want to print out that check list, go down it and ask question of the owner regarding the status of the car... It might help you make a decision to go for it or not. The TRL link is always at the bottom of my signature element.
