    Seat Covers Wanted

My '60 has a red leather interior that's unfortunately full of cracks and in generally bad shape. Barely serviceable and right now covered with tattered fake sheepskin covers. Blech.

New red leather covers are something like $1,500 from Pat Wilson's. Ouch.

I did find someone here that had a spare rear seat cover in solid red (but it's vinyl, I think) that I got for a reasonable price.

What I'm hoping is that someone is restoring a 'bird with red leather seats and is removing serviceable, but not perfect front covers that would be willing to part with for a reasonable sum. I'd even consider vinyl covers that I could dye red. Don't know if I could re-dye leather.

It's a long shot I know, but if you can help me out I'd appreciate it. Respond here or email me at public (at) salguod (dot) net.

    Thanks,
    DGS (aka salguod)

    You can redye leather.

I have a red leather 1959 Thunderbird interior that I have stored away. The pleats are horizontal instead of vertical. It has some wear, but is not worn out.

Tell me if you are interested.

Sure I'm interested, what do you want for the seat covers? Do you hav pictures?

I don't mind a technically 'incorrect' interior that's presentable over the ratty 'correct' one I have now.

Email me (address above) and let me know.

      Thanks,

I have not looked at it in years. I know I packed it away with leather conditioner. I will look at it before I decide on a price. I will take some pictures this week.

Did you ever get to look at those covers? I'm thinking that I'm not likely to bite as once I pull the old covers off, the foam is liekly shot, but I'm still curious.
