It can get pretty cold up here

If you have used one in this kind of weather, you know that you don't read very much.

                      Joke Of the Day

I, for one, having lived in Pennsylvania in my youth, have had the "pleasure" or "displeasure" of using our three holer in the dead of winter... Not fun... Summer can be interesting also when you find that you have company in the form of a snake!

                        Joke of the Day

I am beginning to wonder if I might have mislabeled this thread.... It might have been better to label it as the Joke Of The Hour........

Y'all must have lived in the "high rent" district. We were on the other side of the tracks and had only had a two holer! We lived on a farm and always had plenty of corn cobs though!

                            Joke of the Day

Nope! We lived on what was called a "truck farm" at the top of a hill, of about 2-3 acres and raised our own food. We also had corn cobs, Montgomery Wards or Sears catalogs... I do not remember ever having any of that modern day toilet paper stuff we have today.... What I just said will probably be a shock to anyone on here in their 20's-40's, but that is the way it was back then...

It just dawned on me that quite a few years ago, I made a number of websites with more Outhouse stories on them than you can shake a stick at! It all started when a very good friend of mine in Oklahoma sent me an Outhouse story about the one they had in her youth! I did not know these stories were still operational, but they are. Since we have an Anything Goes Forum, I will start a new thread called My Outhouse Stories, which will probably give you a lot to laugh about, especially those of you who have had the privilege of making use of one in your youth! I would suggest that if you want to hear the music, play these using the Internet Explorer browser, as they should come right up and start playing. You can shut off the music, or turn the volume down. I hope you enjoy them...

I'm gonna bite, Ray... what is a three holer?
We certainly have outhouses down here in OZ, but i have never heard of a "two or three holer". Please enlighten me!

                                Joke of the Day

Lol... Bill, some of our outhouses had just one hole, some had two, and some, like ours, had three. One larger hole for a man, one medium sized hole for a woman and a smaller hole for a child. If you had a three holer, then you had the ultimate in outhouses! The advantage of having more than one hole is if two or more people had to go at the same time, and you did not mind sharing the outhouse, you could!
