Is there any other locations on the 430 to place a mechanical temp guage and oil guage. On my 56 Y-block I found an oil passage port on the side of the motor that was threaded. I also found a port in the back of one of the heads where I mounted a water temp guage. That way I kept my stock attachments. I was able to hide the add ons. Does the 430 have any other locations where I could attach mechanical guages.

Is the coolant temp gauge opening at the front or rear of your intake? If at front and you don't want to tee it, look for another opening in the intake water passages. Is there a fitting in the rear where the heater hose origionates?
As for the oil gallery opening, I think this is only going to be at the filter adaptor as any other possible tap is going to be under the front cover or bell housing.
Hawkrod has a '59. He may be able to direct you better.
