    Finally Finished Engine Rebuild Project

Here are the photos of my finished engine.

As some of you may know, in 4 months, I had the 430 completely rebuilt and balanced, the transmission checked out and resealed, and had the rear axle rebuilt with new 3.0 ring and pinion. The front end was also completely rebuilt, aligned, and wheels spin balanced. I also had the radiator recored.

It drives like a new one -- well, I guess it should after all that

For the first time in 3 years -- I don't have one single spot of anything on my driveway.

The hardest part now, is to get some mileage on the engine for a first oil change. It only has 350 miles on it.
Texas heat of 96 degrees every day is tough -- even with A/C.

    Here's the car:

Thanks Mike. I think the same about yours.

I figured that you would like that Raven Black -- but Ohhhhh how hot it is in the summer sun -- right? At least it keeps people from leaning on it at outdoor shows in the Summer.

        Bart,

Enjoy and good luck, I was wondering about the status of your rebuild, especially after your post about 40 under crank bearings. Sounds like all is resolved and you're back on the road.

Oh yes -- the crank. The guy who cut the crank to 40 under had to buy me another 430 crank. This one had never been cut, and so I have a 10 under crank and rods. The pistons are 30 over.

            Breathtaking

Bart that is absolutely breathtaking you should be very proud. I love the comment about leaning on it at the shows. They would only do that once. Congrats Grant

Bart to chime in, as have the others. WOW Sleek, majestic, period correct and those wide whitewalls, just pull the colour out of the " raven's nest"
Congratulations, that is one sweet looking 60.

Good job Bart. Speaking of Raven black color and the summer heat, reminds of the 1st time I drove my fathers 1959 Ford Fairlane Galaxie 500 sedan.

It was a hot TX summer day, mid-afternoon, & the '59 Ford was sitting outside the garage in the driveway. I rolled the windows down (non-AC car) and I backed out of the driveway. I then placed my left arm down on the door beltline..... HOLY COW!!!

I had a red scalded spot there on my elbow/forearm for a week!!!
Furthermore, I remind ALL of my friends to this day when they ride in that 'ol Ford Galaxie.

I'm happy another 430cid T-Bird is back out there on the road representing us Bart. Good job.

Bart, that's a stunning Tbird, you should be very proud of your achievements. The attention to detail is nothing short of impressive, and in a such short timeframe. Does the label on the battery refer to the battery itself, or your work ethic? (:
                  Well done!

Bart! Thanks for posting the new pictures! She is one Beautiful Black Beauty of a Bird! You have done wonders with her. Bart and I share a lot of our experiences with our Birds, being in the same city. It is good to have someone to talk about our trials and tribulations as we go through refurbishing our Birds. I have a pretty good idea what he has gone through to get her to the beautiful condition she is in. Now you can enjoy driving her for awhile, if the heat does not get ya!

Gorgeous is the word that comes to mind. Black might be hot, but geez its HOT!! Great work, smile and enjoy the admiring looks and insane jealousy that you have earned as you cruise along.

I've been away most of the day, and am just getting to read all of the nice things that you all have said.

Thanks for all of the kind words, and all of the help. There are still alot of things I still want to do, but the big stuff is behind me -- I hope.

What makes this all worth while is when your peers, the people that you respect, tell you that you've done a good job-- thank you.
