Since I bought this Thunderbird three years ago I've struggled with fuel leaks.
First the carburetor was troubling and overflowed. I bought a new carburetor and then I got problems with the fuel line between the pump and carburetor. After buying a lot of adapters and hoses that didn't fit, I made a new steel line and solved the problem.
And then the pump and the short hose between line and pump started to leak and I bought a new hose and a Airtex pump (do not need vacuum pump). Then everything was fine until I started the car a week ago. The new pump had started to leak again between the pump and the adapter to the hose on the input side of the pump. First I tried to tighten the adapter without success. then I tried to solve the problem by using thread tape. Then the new pump cracked....
Anyone know how to connect this adapter to a fuel pump without having a leak or crack the pump? I don't want to do the same mistakes once more.
