    1962 Bulletbird Of 1954mgtf!

New users, Keith & Brenda ~ 1954mgtf sent me a picture of their beautiful black 1962 Convertible they recently acquired. Keith has owned two Babybirds in the past, but this time settled on this gorgeous looking Bulletbird. Here is a pic of it.

Very nice looking '62, is it a roadster.? The same year that ELVIS had. Are you an ELVIS fan.? For those that don't know look up ELVIS'S 1962, It's a quite interesting story. I had a '61 for 8 years before I got my '60 in 2007.

        1962 Bulletbird Of 1954mgtf!

Chris, to answer your question, no, it is not the Roadster. But it is in excellent condition and Keith was able to get it checked out very well before he bought it. Here are several more pictures. Keith just sent me a wiki link that will tell you a bit about his interesting life! He performed on the same bill with Bob Seger, and many other well known performers. He also performed at one of the biggest clubs in Detroit, the RoosterTail. Click on the picture of him with his guitar and see a bigger view of it!

For those of you who have never heard the story of Elvis and his '62 Sports Roadster Bulletbird, here it is.

When my Dad was alive and driving his '60 I always wanted a '61-62 to go to the shows with him. Those were the good 'ole days

Keith's black '62 Roadster with the white top, KH wires etc looks fabulous!!! What a great color combo and even "fabulous" doesn't quite seem to be the best description - wow.

Maybe Keith (1954MGTF) and I have something else in common ???? BCD ??? Thinking his forum name might be for a '54 MGTF? I also have a couple of MG's.
(for those of you that have not been infected - BCD is British Car Disease). Once bitten there is no cure........

My 1957 MGA (funny Elvis connection too - he drove an MGA in Blue Hawaii - wish this was the one that Elvis had driven but it's in a Museum. Father-in-law bought this one new but I think I'd trade it for that Tbird)

            Welcome to the forum Keith...

              1962 Bulletbird Of 1954mgtf!

I see that Eric has figured out what Keith's user id stands for! Yes! 1954 MGT! He has had it for quite some time, overhauled it several times, I think he said, and is still driving it. He also has a few other classics in his stable... I need to ask John Rotella or look in the Tbird Registry to see if he knows if Elvis's '62 has ever been put into the Registry. I do not know the whereabouts of it today, unlike the MG he was driving. Thanks for the input, Eric!

Oops, off topic, but, I too, enjoy the British MG motoring heritage (just older units); as I currently own a 1947 MG TC and a 1949 MG TC (gotta have those big 19" wires).

The '47 was my grandfather's, then my brother's, and the '49 was my aunt's. This was my aunt's second TC, as a Colorado river flood took her first one (never reported found; maybe it's in Mexico?).

I would like to acquire an F-type, in two seater-sports configuration.

But, enough of T-type MGs, and back to T-birds; and yes, it appears to be a very nice '62.

                Scott.

Hi Scott, yes, we did get a bit off topic, but the comments regarding the MG's, and Elvis have been interesting. My doctor owns one that he has been restoring for the last few years!

I have just moved my #10 post above this on how to use the new Tbird Registry to Anything Goes. If you want to find out if you happen to own a Tbird that was once owned by a celebrity, go there and check it out! There are 43 known Celebrity Cars listed and many of them no one know who owns them now. YOU could very well own one and not know it is a Celebrity Car!

                    1962 Bulletbird Of 1954mgtf!

In the course of communicating back and forth with Keith regarding their gorgeous 1962 Black Raven Bulletbird, I learned this from him regarding how he got his start as a songwriter, musician and recording artist.

He got his start when someone hired him to perform at their sister Brenda's 15th birthday party. Six years later, he married Brenda and they have remained married ever since.

He also sent me a couple of pix of people he has known over the years and gave me permission to post them for him. Neal Young with Paul McCartney waving at him, as Brenda took the picture, and him meeting Rosanne Cash.

Not sure if you were aware, but Richard Carpenter of the " carpenters , Richard and Karen ) also owned a 1962 Roadster Thunderbird . A picture of him and the car was displayed on one of his LP's . He purchased this '62 from a friend of mine back in the '80's .

Hi Martin, no I did not know that, but I do know that if one checks the Tbird Registry you can find 44 Tbirds listed that are called Celebrity Cars. You can click on each link and by clicking on More Info, it will tell you which celebrity owned that Tbird. Here is the link to that. To check the status of a car put a check mark in the box and click on the information.

I am well aware that there are many people on this Forum who are well known in their business and personal lives for other than being a Tbird owner and we enjoy hearing their stories when they tell us about them...
