Ive run those same spacers in the past- on my old LTD I have them all around to mount a set of bullitts, as well as the rear of my mustang. But I would prefer not to use them on the bird- as you said, they arent easy to get off!
I am pretty sure those are the 01-04, without the Mustang pony caps...

Rusty here's the info on the front lowered coil springs for my 66.
        Front – coil springs - - 1.50”

        Pricing: $ 186.75 pair
If you search coil spring specialists I'm sure you'll find their site. I am in no way affiliated with them and this is not a solicitation for business. Just sharing some info. Also note that this quote was from back at the first of the year.

          Thank oldkid.

were there any differences in the 64 and the 65-66 springs? I would prefer to buy new ones compared to cutting- I keep all my stock parts, just in case i need them one day.

Also, what is correct tire height supposed to be? I see people running anywhere from a 245/40/17 to a 255/55/17

I don't know for sure, but I would expect them to be the same. Other than some trim differences, a difference in the powersteering resevoir and the radiator, I haven't found any other differences in our 64 vs our 65.

            Cheers
