    weird carb thing

HI Gang, weird thing started yesterday, I've got the Holley carb on my Bird, and yesterday after driving for about 10 miles and shutting it off for an hour or so, when I started the engine it idles for a few seconds then stalled out. I opened the hood and pulled the air cleaner off and the secondaries were getting gas dripped in to them at a pretty steady pace while the motor was running. First time that's happened. Could it be the float is stuck open ??

Sounds like either a leaking float or a sticking/worn needle valve.

That's what I thought, I'm sending for a rebuild kit, couldn't hurt either way.

I had the same problem years ago..........if I were going up a hill the car would cut off. It ended up being the needle valves. I pulled them out and they had a "residue" of some type on the little rubber tips. I guess they were sticking .......causing the engine to be choked of fuel. I cleaned them off and it never happened again.
