Ford SVT Truck update: Harley F-150 coming in early '09

Our good friend Mike Levine from PickupTrucks.com is participating in Ford's long-lead preview for the new F-150 this week in Michigan. As part of the festivities, Ford took the gathered media on a tour of the Dearborn truck plant where preparations are underway to build the new trucks. In an unusual move, Ford allowed photos to be taken inside the plant and the ever attentive Mr. Levine spotted some hints pointing to details about the new SVT truck that we reported on a few days ago. It now appears that the truck on which SVT has been working is in fact the next Harley-Davidson edition rather than a Lightning. Around the Dearborn factory, Mike took note of the amended work instructions and signs that are in place at various stations, including the wheel install area. While Ford has not officially commented on the new Harley truck, an ID sign that indicates the Harley wheels is a pretty strong indicator that something is coming. Mike has more pics and details at his site. The SVT truck will be introduced later this year, likely at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas and should go into production early in 2009.
