59 convert trunk weatherstripping

just got my weatherstripping kit and it looks like the main large piece would fit over the drip rail in trunk with the groove cut in it. isnt it supposed to be glued to the trunk lid? thanks

It is glued to the trunk lid. That groove on the weatherstripping surrounds the lip on the trunk opening when closed.

the groove actually faces in towards trunk laying flat.
