    Heater Core Question

Hello.... I am a Newbie to both the Forum and T-Birds. I am always amaze of the wealth of knowledge on these forums.

Here is what I purchased... 1966 Q Code T-Bird. It has two immediate areas of concern; the Heater Core and drivers side exhaust manifold needs gasket.

So here is my question.... at O'Reilly's they have a Heater Core for a 1967 T-Bird made by Murray (lifetime guarantee) $44. Will this core work on the 1966 Bird?

Thanks for your response in advance.

Unfortunately a '67 heater core will not work on a '66. You will either have to find a good used one, buy one of the repro ones (about $120) or take it to a radiator shop and see if they can repair it.

Sorry to bother you again... found one that someone was selling as 1964-1966 Heater Core.... does the engine size matter or will any of these work for those years???

There's a different core for Air and Non-Air cars so you have to be careful to get the right one. The engine size doesn't matter.

              Heater Core Question

Stacey, give the guys at The Bird House in Delaware or The Bird Nest in Oregon a call. They have parts cars and might have what you need on their shelves. They really know a lot about these old Tbirds of ours. All our Advertisers contact information is in the Advertisements Forums.
