I think it looks cool because it matches the hood and trunk emblem. It is to bad some Ford engineer did not think of that in 1960!

If you look at this Black Bird again, you should notice that he has three gauges where the AC vent would be if it had AC. So here is someone else who has mounted extra gauges there. I think it looks pretty neat. Looks like they should be there. You will see this in the picture I attached. I see a non-original steering wheel also. I wonder what else he has done to this Bird? Like EG, I do like the tail light setup.

I've been looking into combo gauges to replace my clock with.
some marine gauges include oil, temp, amp and found one that had a tach all in one.
Still lookin for the right one.

I kind of liked the 2-tone center console with the speaker grille breaking up the white.....

I think someone has put their mark on this 60 and it just goes to show what can be done, with a little imagination. I too like the two-tone center console, as it really brings ot the rest of the chrome and dress's up the interior somewhat.

i'm not crazy about the tail light treatment...at all.

the rectangle crammed inside the 'elliptical' tail light opening seems "forced" and awkward to me. The geometries don't work.

One of the things I find most attractive about the squarebirds is those "rocket booster" tail lights.
They look so cool all lit up individually in my opinion.

                to each his own.

I'm afraid I have to agree - the rectangle into elliptical thing screams 'don't do it' to me.

I didn't like his tail light mod either, but it was unique and he did kept it ALL OE Ford Thunderbird. I had to post the car on here as he did alot of mods to the squarebird.

The owner of this '60 sent me a message back on the Car Domain web site. It seems he already knew about OUR website (squarebirds.org). His brother is even a member on here, "63tbirdricks".

I replaced the Backup lense with a solid red one and added sequential turn signals VERY COOL!!!

                          hey George.
I did the sequential tail light thing too but bought a red cover for the backup bulb. It retains the white lens that way but looks all red when they light up.

I wouldn't do the tail light mod like he did, but it is a pretty neat trick. How many others have one like that? If that's what he wanted, then by all means do it! My Bird has A/C so I will probably go ahead and keep the vents the way they are, but the gauges are a really nice touch. Maybe have a tri-gauge set-up on the door pillar... Also, one question? How many '60 T-bird owners have the spot-light on theirs? Mine has one but wasn't sure if it was a dealer add-on or just someone decided to put it there themselves.

One thing would be to do the whole backlight in one piece with a bird in it, and yes, taste are different, but the rear light is one of the main thing on a Squarebird, in my opinion.
Would be interesting to se if it´s possible to squeeze in 3 lights in the size of the ´58 &´59 like the ´60.
