    1963 tbird trans leak help

    i have 1963 tbird just replaced trans pan gasket and next thing is i drove it for a while and a day later it leaked a court out of if from the back side . i checked all the bolts to pan and looked for a leak the best i can any help of what else it could leak from on the back side of the trans ? i saw on here about a rear seal but i dont see how to change

    A quart in one day is a lot. The tail shaft has a sleeve bearing and a seal, right where the driveshaft yoke comes out. Put your car in the air and look for leaks in the front, around the shift arms, around the gasket, and around the length of the cooling lines.

      thanks , i took the trans pan back off and put a new gasket on it . i had the old but newer gasket for about 3 years out in the garage it looked like it shrunk , two days now and no leak but thanks for the help
