    Fender Skirts

Thank you! I was happy to help Bill. There were a couple of places that I did not contact because they were closed at the time. One is Bob's Bird House. Another was John Draxler. I probably caught him in the field.

I did talk with Lance of Thunderbird Southwest. He was going to check his stock for any.

Regarding Thunderbird Hqs, their new metal fender skirts are listed in their catalog under Patch Panels, on Page 11. They are available for '58-'60 Part #SK-58, '61-'63 Part #SK-61, and '64-'66 Part #SK-64. All the same price, $195.

    Good Birding!

I got a set of fiberglass skirts for my 60 on my -- birthday. I had to take them back and trade for real ones. They just weren't right. A little to thick

Luckily, what TBird Hqs is marketing are metal ones. They are cut to match the original ones and one should have no problem with them fitting. What is great is that not only do they have them for our '58-'60 Birds, but also through '66 Birds.

As luck would have it, I managed to find a metal pair right here in Australia. They are certainly not original, but appear to attach to the car the same as the originals. (Apparantly the fibreglass repro's do not.) I will have them painted by my body guy, tart them up somewhat, fit some seals and dress the girl properly. I know skirts aren't to everyone's liking, but I like them and thats what matters.

I thank Ray for his research and advice in this little episode and hope that someone else benefits from it as well.
