    1406 Edelbrock Carb

    I am installing a 1406 Edelbrock carb on my 1960 352 engine.
Does it matter which terminal of the electric window motor relay I use to connect the electric choke? Thanks for your help.

I don't think it matters. I connected mine to the one on the right that has the heavier red wire.

Hey John, what carb do you have on your Bird?

What additional components are needed to install this carb on a factory setup? Any spacers or so? And what is your experience with this carb compared to the original (gas mileage, behavior, etc.)? Have you got any picture of your setup?

It is a very easy installation. Just remove the old Ford carb and install the Edelbrock on the existing spacer. Hook the electric choke to the power window relay ( if you have manual windows you will have to run a wire to 12V that is switched and not hot all the time). Connect the accelerator rod to the Edelbrock carburetor (I had to make it longer by turning the adjusting nut a few turns). Connect the fuel and vacuum advance lines (I used the full time advance port rather than the timed advance port). Plug any other vacuum ports that aren't being used. There will be some fine tuning that you will have to do as far as fast and curb idle speed adjustments and the idle mixture screws. The performance is much better than the Ford carb in my opinion.

Hi Dan. Just got my car back from the body shop. Had all rusted panels replaced as well as a new paint job. Maybe see you next year.
