A four-wheel-drive Squarebird Ranchero! I looked at the pictures. It is not a hack job. Most of the body details are well done.

      RancheroBird

Just the thing for headin' out to the South Fourty to drop off a few bales of hay to the cattle and make it back home without gittin' stuck in the snow!! What will them Ford engineers think up next???

I can just see the commercial spots during Bonanza episodes.....

I think it's odd looking. The preportions seem "off" somehow.
Alexander, good to see you back. You are home? Yes, I think.
That's got to be comforting, to be in one's own home.

Remember the song Johnny Cash did some years back about the autoworker that swiped parts each year off the assembly line? For decades he brought parts home in his lunch box and built a car in his garage using them.

"and when I turned on the headlights... all three of them came on" It was 1 49-50-51-52-53....

I wonder when it was built. Hope it was when Squarebirds were plenty. I would hate to see a Squarebird today torn up like that. Then again it may have been a rusted beyound type of vehicle.

I placed my bid on e-bay but they said I couldn't make a minus bid but when I looked at that thing I said they would haft to pay me to take it home.

John I am back from holidays and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your post. I think Alexander has it down pat on his description of the Squarebird / Ranchero. I think a couple of the Alberta red necks up here might be interested in chooching around in this.

As of Saturday afternoon, there are 8 interested bidders and one of them is willing to shell out at least $4800. The IDs are hidden so I could not tell if any of them were good ol' boys from north of the border or not...

I wanna see the look on somebody's wife's face when that gem is dropped off in the driveway... "you paid how much???"

Assuming it was a beater to start with...and minus the 4x4 chassis... I still think it's cool. I'm a New York redneck, I guess.

Mike It would certainly turn heads at a show & shine and would also win the " original" class division.

Mike, based on the number of bids and that someone was willing to go at least $5500, alot of people agreed with you!

I think Alexander had it right with his "Ranchero" label.

Just think...Ford could have had a Thunderbird Division... the 2 seater sports car, the 4 seater Squarebird, and the Ranchero 4x4!
