Kickdown Problems
Actually, Scott, that was about 7 years ago and the mechanic that was working on that problem is long gone and I can't ask him what he did. I think it was either an adjustment at the tranny connections, or the throttle linkage, but I am not even sure anymore if he even said... Unfortunately..

Scott,
Can you post a picture of the linkage on your intake manifold. You may be missing something or it may be out of adjustment.

Oh, it's definitely out of adjustment. The PO told me he cracked the original case, likely doing the reverse to first without stopping, and had to replace the transmission. I have no idea how long this one sat before going on this car but it's the same vintage, from a 1960 T-Bird (I got the motor it was attached to as well) because the seals are all dried out and until it's warm it slips like crazy, once it's warm though it's like a brand new transmission except for this.
I got the shop manual yesterday from Larry's and quickly read through the adjustment procedure and it's step by step. Multiple steps, has to be done in order so I'm doing it tomorrow. I'll take pics and post it so next time it comes up there is a record.
Doesn't look complicated, but from the looks of things mine is way out.Scott
